Responsibilities:

- Ensure strict compliance with GMP, SOP, HACCP, OHSA and other pertinent policies, procedures and legislation. – Perform mechanical or electrical installation, modification, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of equipment, utilities, systems and or facilities in accordance with established SOPs, GMP guidelines and EH&S policies. – Perform operation and maintenance (electro-mechanical) of all the equipments and machineries used in Production and Packaging area – Perform size- change, repair, preventative maintenance, installation, and modification of production and packaging machinery and facility equipments – Responsible for efficient operation and maintenance (electro-mechanical) of Ammonia refrigeration plant, air compressor, HVAC, cooling tower, boiler, spiral freezer, coolers, fire alarm system – Identify, recommend and implement improvements to line procedures, equipment, utilities, systems and/or facilities to enhance the productivity, quality or safety of products, processes and/or procedures. – Lubricate spiral freezers bearings with grease and chains with oil – Check refrigeration plant system checked glycol heating pumps/water treatment /ammonia compressors – Detect and investigate variance in performance of equipment, utilities, systems and facilities to ensure proper functioning. – Coordinate, recommend and initiate purchase orders for parts, equipment or spare parts inventory. – Complete required compliance documentation, log books, timesheets, etc. when executing duties. – Understands established quality standards and performs quality checks as needed. – Actively identifies new areas for learning and utilizes newly gained knowledge and skills on the job. – Ensure Ammonia/Air Compressors start-up-monitor & checked, with written recordings logged as per internal and statutory requirements. – Other duties as required.

Qualifications / Certifications: – Stationary Engineer Class 4 or a Class “B” Refrigeration license

Problem Solving / Decision Examples: – Capability to effectively prioritize tasks and ensure completion with minimal errors. – Ability to assess and promptly rectify difficult situations and/or issues while adhering to company policies and procedures. – Take proactive action based on key indicators and trend information to optimize the production process – Work in a cost effective manner and maintain a high standard of quality and excellent workmanship.

Skills / Knowledge:

- Effective reading and comprehension is required when viewing SOP’s, policies, work process instructions, GMP, H&S guidelines, etc. – Familiar with ammonia refrigeration systems – Fluency in English with good communication skills, both written and verbal. – Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision. – Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively. – Ability to understand mechanical principles and follow logical instructions to operate machinery, diagnose problems and examine machinery to ensure they are operating correctly. – Knowledge of entire production system for a line and the flow of material through the system and each department. – Ability to work in a collaborative capacity as well as independently with limited supervision. – Strict adherence to GMP, Food Safety and Personal hygiene policies.

Working Conditions:

- Work inside and under controlled conditions that are necessary to comply with food production guidelines – Work in temperatures from -19C to 24C up to and exceeding one hour at a time – Work with equipment that involves the use of pressure, steam and extreme temperatures
