Retail Sales Analyst (Toronto)

The Retail Sales Analyst will collaborate with Senior Retail Analyst to provide relevant data to the sales organization that will help maximize wholesale shipments while driving the enhanced profitability of the business.
You will be expected to analyze Retail Sales, Stock and Retail Profitability at the account level and provide input and recommendations regarding product placement, merchandise assortments, sales opportunities and business risk.
You will also obtain data and analyze Retail Sales and Inventory by account generating miscellaneous reports and this information will include sales, stock and gross margin by door/cluster as well as category, commodity and style performance analysis. In the end identify opportunities to increase Retail Sales, Inventory Turnover and Profitability thereby increasing wholesale shipments.
Job Requirements:
• Understanding of the customer's business at retail. Effective accumulation of relevant quantitative and qualitative customer sales, market, competitive and financial performance data. Assisting with meeting Accounts needs and expectations.
• On time and accurate reporting and analysis of the data in Weekly/Monthly reports, providing Retail analysis for key management meetings, maintaining Sales Forecast and other report templates as needed
• Contributing to Monthly and Quarterly business reviews to provide formalized updates on performance of Retail Business, assisting with establishing future direction and identifying growth opportunities in conjunction with the Account Managers to attain and/or exceed business objectives.
• Supporting all aspects of the process during each seasonal release including coordination of seasonal assortment plans, samples and sales tools
• Maintaining seasonal retail buy plans including monthly sales, inventory, markdowns and gross margin projections
• Participating in customer meetings and market appointments as required
• Contributing to seasonal merchandise financial plans by division for retail.
• Directing monthly forecast of business by division and stock analysis for retail.
• Providing replenishment functions for retail, periodically analyzing store inventory and making decisions to ensure inventory levels are sufficient to support financial objectives
• Recommending initial and replenishment distributions by store as required
• Preparing Recaps on stores performance
• Analyzing businesses and historical data to identify opportunities and risks, and strategize effective solutions
• Reporting actual sales results to plan, and forecasting in-season sales, inventories and markdowns on a weekly / monthly / quarterly basis for retail
• Determining appropriate receipts needed to accomplish goals
• Managing inventory flow of basic replenishment styles, providing size and colour analysis
• Presenting and interpreting results to the team
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising/Finance is an asset
• Experience in Merchandise Planning and Retail Analysis is a definite advantage
• Excellent analytical, financial and communication skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, experience with AS400/Island Pacific/7th Online/BIS/XPC is a plus

Salary is depending on experience but ranges between $50,000 - $75,000
