Corporate Accountant (Downtown Toronto)

Our downtown client is looking for a full-time Corporate Accountant to enhance its Canadian finance division. Ideally, the successful candidate has experience within the travel industry.
Responsibilities include:
Management of the general ledger including capital assets and accruals
Analyze financial statements for the management team
Communicating with outside vendors and staff
Preparation and filing of monthly GST/HST return(s)
Assisting in the preparation of various account reconciliations
Setting up annual and monthly accounting files (financial statements, budgets, and reports)
Assisting Finance Manager and Controller as required during all financial period closings
Developing and refining internal controls
Leading various adhoc projects
Qualifications:
Minimum three years of relevant accounting experience in Canada
Extensive knowledge and experience of the full accounting cycle
Knowledge in a variety of accounting systems
University degree (required) with enrolment in an accounting designation (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and comfortable dealing with high volumes of data
Independent, self-starter, team player
Advanced Microsoft Excel (designing, building and maintaining files)
Exceptional verbal and written English skills
Ability to multi-task and possession of strong organizational abilities
