Robotic Weld Technician -- All Shifts - Automotive
Permanent -- Richmond Hill
Our client is a supplier to the automotive industry and is currently seeking a Robotic Weld Tech who will report directly to the Welding Engineering Manager. The role is responsible for increasing company profitability and improve employee working conditions by studying, recommending and implementing changes to existing and new welding processes
Job Description:
• Responsible for modifying, validating and documenting weld quality and integrity to meet quality standards (ABB, Motoman, FANUC, Panasonic)
• Capable of recovering weld cells (FANUC) robot faults, adjust welding points, reset machine faults and improve down times
• Programming and troubleshooting Medar, Lincoln, and Panasonic weld controllers to ensure quality standards are met
• Assist in development and maintaining perishable parts list for the welding department
• Development of a preventative maintenance program and troubleshooting on robotic and automated welding cells
• Capable of setting up new welding process for robot cells
• Changing welding tips daily on spot welding and MIG welding systems
• Changing over jobs and setting up of weld tooling on automated equipment
• Assist in the training of operators on robotic operations
• Assist engineering with system cell layouts
• Developing weld perimeters
Qualifications:
• Some college education and 2 years of experience
• Able to read, write and enhance programs for FANUC welding robots
• Knowledge of Spot Welding (Medar weld controls) and MIG Welding Processes (GMAW)
• Knowledge of weld specs (resistance and MIG welding-leg lengths and penetration, etc.)
• Strong technical background
• Industrial Electrician
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time-management skills and very dependable
• Able to work in various locations within and outside the plant
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
