Job Summary
Incoming Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the evaluation of all packaging components, completes all product sampling requirements, liaises with the suppliers as required & completes all associated documentation to ensure that all standards & product specification requirements are met & provides guidance/training as required.
Skills and Qualifications
• Post secondary education preferred
• 1-3 years previous experience in a cGMP environment
• Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations.
• Ability to communicate, both written and orally, in English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
• Good inter-personnel skills.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to ensure, monitor & enforce high standards for product quality.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedures.
• Ability to communicate and work as a member of a team.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in a timely manner and react well under pressure.
• Ability to use personal judgment and knowledge to disseminate information.
• Ability to deal with the public with tact and courtesy.
• Able to exemplify strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Physically able to stand for long periods of time and perform all manual aspects of the job, including but not limited to bending, lifting, twisting.
• Active participant in all Continuous Improvement (C.I.) activities.
• Knowledge of computers an asset.
• Ability to work evening/night/weekend shifts upon request
Relationships

Works With: Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Production departments, Suppliers, Customer (as required) & all other Company staff as required.
Safety Equipment Needed
• Hair net, safety boots & safety glasses mandatory.
• Gloves & any other personal protective equipment as required.
Responsibilities
• Perform statistical sampling of incoming packaging materials (containers, caps, labels, shippers, etc)
• Inspect/test to ensure product specific requirements are met & completed.
• Record results on a timely basis.
• Ensure packaging meets Industry, Customer, QA & Company standards.
• Perform testing & complete documentation requirements.
• Ensure that all test results are within the acceptable range
• Issue & co-ordinate corrective action.
• Generate reports as required including On-Hold & Rejection reports.
• Operate & maintain various instruments for conducting variety of tasks.
• Ensure standards & supplies are maintained.
• Implement Test Protocols & Technical Procedures, as needed.
• Prioritize workload to insure all turnaround times are met.
• Interact with internal & external clients in a professional manner, including resolution of vendor product non-conformances events.
• Prepare & review written technical reports.
• Perform technical problem solving & trouble shooting as needed.
• Maintain packaging retain sampling system.
• Monitor specification requirements of products.
• Report any problems & or concerns to the QA Manager for corrective action.
• Train new IQC staff as required.
• Liaise with suppliers as required.
• Maintain an orderly filing system.
• Adhere to all QA and Company policies and procedures including health and safety.
• Follow all procedures and wear personal protective equipment as outlined in the health and safety manual.
• Identify and report any hazard(s), accidents, injuries requiring first aid, health care, lost-time injuries, occupational diseases or incidents in the workplace.
• Use equipment, materials and machinery only as authorized.
• Any other related duties as required.
Annual performance appraisals will be based on the above responsibilities and dimensions.
