Our client is looking for a Jr. Microwave Engineer who possesses Project Management skills. This is a 1 year contract position located in Mississauga.

The successful candidate will report to the Transport Engineering Manager-- Central Region and will be responsible for the detailed engineering of point to point micro-wave transport networks.
His/her main tasks will include :
? Issue preliminary and detailed engineering specifications for installation and construction
? Microwave frequency coordination -- via MICS/FCSA
? Establish project schedules, produce technical documentation
? Participate to selection of service and equipment providers
? Knowledge of microwave antenna systems
? Establish project budgets
? Participate in the management of transport projects
? Optimize existing transport networks
? Development of processes and methodologies
? Coordination of transport initiatives

Required competencies/essential skills:

• 5 years experience in transport networks engineering
• 5 years experience in design, implementation and optimization of microwave networks
• Experience in Network planning
• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering - telecommunications or equivalent
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of wireless communication components such as antennas, filters, propagation, interference and spectrum management
• Knowledge of Industry Canada SRSP's.
• Knowledge of L3 Ethernet
• Knowledge of DS1, DS3 and OC3 hierarchy and SDM protocols
• Expertise in Project management
• Ability to work independently in an ever changing environment
• Pathloss, MapInfo, MICS, Visio and MS Office
• Ability to partner/work together with contractors, vendors and peers (locally and remotely)
• Ability to travel when required
• Experience in developing and managing costing models.
