Applied Electronics Limited is a national audio/visual sales and integration company specializing in corporate and educational markets. We are currently seeking an experienced Audio Visual System Design/Technical Support for our Mississauga office.
This key position within our organization requires a team-oriented A/V professional with a strong self-directed work ethic along with effective time management & communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in designing/integrating complex A/V systems. This position requires a strong working knowledge of audio, video, control & current technology trends. Extensive experience in developing technical solutions & engineering design specifications in response to customer requirements, including adherence to budget constraints, is necessary. The ability to effectively communicate with AEL Senior Management, Sales/Installation Teams & Project Managers is critical to the success of this position.
Primary Role:
Responsible for providing pre & post sales Systems Design & Technical Support to the A/V Sales & Installation Teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct technical review of RFP & sales quotations to ensure solution will provide intended system functionality
• Develop initial set of audio, video & control flow functional drawings for AEL internal usage
• Participate in project kick-off meetings with Sales & technical resources for large-scale projects
• Review As-built documentation from Installation Team for technical accuracy prior to CAD submission
• Assist with creation of conduit, termination box & electrical schedule for non-company trades
• Provide Technical Support to Sales & Installation Teams as required
• Distribute technical updates on new technology solutions, trends & design related suggestions
• Actively participate in personal & professional development & maintain knowledge of current & new technology offered by AEL
• Prepare presentation summaries for Sales & Installation staff from relevant manufacturer training courses
• Conduct pre-proposal site inspections with Sales Reps & document technical requirements
• Promote a team environment & comply with company policies & Health & Safety guidelines
• Provide Management with weekly summary reports outlining the status of active projects & schedule for completing outstanding tasks.
Qualifications:
• Electronics engineering education with a post-secondary institution
• 7-10 years of experience in system design and/or system integration
• CTS-D industry certification
• Preference given to candidates with industry recognized Network Certification(s) & Crestron DMC-E certification
• Proficient in reading and interpreting: system design schematics and electrical/mechanical/architectural drawings
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Visio drawing tools
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks & work under pressure while adhering to project schedules
