SENIOR REAL ESTATE LAW CLERK
required for law firm located in SCARBOROUGH
We are seeking a permanent full time Senior Real Estate Law Clerk who should have the ability to work independently on real estate files from the beginning to end. We are also willing to hire part-time.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of Residential and Commercial real estate experience is required. You must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Duties include banking, typing, answering calls, dealing with clients, the ability to meet deadlines, must be able to effectively work under pressure, be a team player and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for a person that is organized, detail oriented and a good communicator.
Your complete knowledge and understanding of the following is essential:
- Conveyancer
- Teraview
- E-Reg
- PC Law
- WordPerfect and Microsoft Word
- Internet
- Title Insurance (Stewart Title and TitlePlus)
- Dicta-typing and typing skills
- Phones, photocopier, fax, etc..
The ideal candidate will work one-on-one with our lawyer and clients, opening real estate files, preparing real estate documents, conducting searches, conducting electronic title searches, conducting off-title due diligence searches, preparing electronic documents for registration, reviewing registered and unregistered documents as part of due diligence investigations, use PC Law, preparing cheques, going to the bank, dealing with clients via the phone, in person and via correspondence, dealing with other lawyer's offices via the telephone and through correspondence, reporting and billing on real estate transactions and filing, all in connection with our transaction-based Residential/Commercial Real Estate practice.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in the area of real estate and a law clerk diploma from an accredited Ontario community college or equivalent experience. A valid driver's license and car an asset.

Salary commensurate with experience.
