SCSU Restaurants Inc is a wholly-owned food-service subsidiary of The Scarborough Campus Students' Union (SCSU), the not-for-profit organization that represents all Full-Time and Part-Time Undergraduate Students at the University of Toronto-Scarborough (UTSC). SRI is opening new food service outlets in the UTSC student Centre is Q4 of 2011 (Hero Certified Burgers and KCF/Taco Bell). We are in search of dedicated and experienced staff to work in the capacity of Franchise Food Service Team Member within our organization.
Duties of Employment:
Recognizing that the duties of the Team Member embrace a broad range of roles and responsibilities, it is important to note that not all functions are contained within this position description, and the position itself will be ever-changing and adaptive. Nevertheless, specific roles and responsibilities allocated to this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Team Member Responsibilities
Treating the customers with the best customer service practices.
Taking orders and requests from customers. He or she is also responsible for replacing orders if requested by customers.
Gathering a customers' order into a tray, this includes the main meal, side dishes, drinks, condiments and utensils.
Performing roles assigned by the Supervisor or Store Manager such as doing inventory and performing some duties in work stations in the kitchen.
The Team Member is responsible for their own cash drawer and is liable for any losses.
He or She is also responsible in entertaining a customer's comments or complaints regarding the food and services.
Cleaning up assigned areas of the store during opening and closing time.
Ensuring food ingredients are stored in their designated area and rotated in the proper manner.
Preparing all items in accordance with approved recipe cards
Handling and cleaning kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury
Working efficiently and effectively to gather, wash, cut, season, cook, and store quality ingredients.
Prioritizing and organizing tasks for speed and quality assurance.
Ensuring requisitions are filled out for following days par-stock requirements
Reporting directly to Franchise Kitchen Manager and Assistant Manager
Maintaining a clean and safe work area adhering to food safety and health standards.
Performing other kitchen duties as required.
Work conditions for the Franchise Food Service Team Member:
Works in the Franchise on a shift basis, along with other service crew. Shifts will be 3-5 hours in length.
The job is physically demanding, so it requires full concentration. The Team Member is required to be active and motivated to move during every shift.
Basic computation, math and computer skills required
Expected to interact with customers in a respectful manner regardless of any requests or demands that the customer has.
