Our client is a global fund management company headquartered in Bermuda. With 20 years of experience and offices in a number of international locations, they offer unique investment management services for leading institutions and sophisticated individual investors.
As a result of their commitment to creating relevant solutions that meet their clients' changing investment needs they have recently created a new venture consisting of state-of-the-art technology, a novel business model and innovative products.
On their behalf, we are searching for a suitably qualified individual to assist in them in pushing forward this business initiative in the position of Operations Manager. The successful candidate may be based in Bermuda, Vancouver or the UK depending in part on their preferences and portability.
Main Responsibilities
•Lead operations associate team to conduct research, design systems and processes, and subsequently pilot/ test/ refine to support creation of novel and massively scalable/ reliable/ cost effective operational models
•Work with business and development managers to define innovative features for product and service design (for both customer facing and internal systems)
•Define collaboration model with internal and 3rd party service providers (e.g., custodian, administrator), conduct rigorous selection, and lead in subsequent integration process to ensure quality and timely service delivery
•Design operations group's day-to-day organization, hire and train up day-to-day team
•Setup regional headquarters in preparation for country launch
•Motivate both operations associates and day-to-day team and provide close mentorship and coaching
•People manager and responsible for review process, soliciting input from a variety of sources
•Prepare Board level presentations and companywide updates to communicate status and generate excitement
Experience and Skills
•Bachelor's degree with an outstanding academic record from a reputable university (preferably a 1st class/GPA3.5+ or equivalent degree)
•Master's (especially MBA) or higher level degree strongly preferred
•At least 7 years of professional experience in a management consulting or operations role
•At least 4 years of previous people management experience (either as a full time manager or on a project basis)
•Previous operational experience with Canadian financial institutions a strong plus, especially in defining operational processes, setting up/ managing contact centers, developing/ deploying operational IT systems, and interfacing with Canadian banking systems
•Passion for joining a fast-paced hardworking startup environment key for success
Our client believes in attracting talented individuals who have demonstrated their ability and desire to excel in all their endeavours including academic studies. The remuneration package will reflect this and will be heavily influenced by performance.
Bermuda location offers a low-tax environment with a maximum payroll tax of 5.25%! Relocation assistance and relevant work permit will also be offered for that location.
