Commercial Lines Account Manager (Markham)

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position reports to the VP of Programs, and is responsible for:
• Respond to all customer telephone inquiries. Act on all requests or direct to Administrative
Assistant where applicable.
• Work with the Account Director(s) on ensuring the A Customers receive our Value Added
Services
• Invoice renewals, endorsements and cancellations.
• Direct Administrative Assistant(s) where required.
• Input and update customer files including computer customer data.
• Maintain policy rating manuals for team where necessary
• Prepare premium financing contracts.
• Rate and invoice new and renewal commercial lines risks.
• Maintain acceptable accounts receivable.
• Review all cancellations and lapses with Manager prior to processing.
• Solicit new lines of insurance and recommend additional coverage, where applicable
• Act on cross-sell opportunities and obtain referrals where possible.
• Keep abreast of industry practices and company procedures. Participate in training and
education seminars as directed.
• Prepare form letters and free-form letters and faxes for attachment to endorsements,
binders, invoices, liability certificates and certificates of insurance.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• RIBO License
• Minimum 5 years commercial lines insurance experience as a customer service
representative or similar position.
• Knowledge and use of Policy Works is very beneficial.
• Strong understanding of commercial property and automobile principles and practices.
• Able to effectively communicate most insurance coverages and procedures to a wide
variety of commercial lines clients.
• Team player but works well independently and with minimal direction
• Able to take direction and complete a multitude of tasks as assigned
• Able to effectively manage a wide variety of commercial lines risks in a portfolio.
• Good sales and communication skills
