BIA Coordinator (Etobicoke )

Experienced Coordinator Required
Reporting to the Board of Management of the Village of Islington Business Improvement Area, the Coordinator's responsibilities include the following:
• Schedule monthly meetings and prepare agendas with the Board Chair.
• Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and follow up on issues as assigned.
• Responsible for regular office operations such as filing, mailing, purchase of office supplies etc.
• Prepare, produce and distribute newsletters
• Maintain the BIA's website and any social media sites
• Ensure frequent communication with new and existing BIA members through regular site visits to help with problems and issues as well as obtaining feedback on BIA services.
• Maintain member contact information
• Prepare press releases and other media releases.
• Act as a liaison with non BIA members such as city officials, Councilors, MPP's, Economic Development office, community groups and agencies.
• Maintain all permit and licensing files and apprise the Board of City requirements
• Ensure Village murals remain clean and free of graffiti.
• Assist in the preparation of the Operations and Capital budgets.
• Coordinate preparation and distribution of annual Village calendar including securing sponsors
• Arrange all aspects of the Annual General Meeting, including choice of location, invitations and other pertinent documentation.
• Arrange any BIA promotional and member events as scheduled by the Board
• Ensure that all public areas are kept clean and free of garbage and illegal dumping by reporting problems to appropriate City departments.
• Arrange for maintenance of BIA street property
• Arrange for maintenance of seasonal trees, banners and lighting displays.
• Attend City and TABIA meetings as determined by the Board
• Additional duties as assigned by the Board of Management.
Qualifications:
• University Degree or College Diploma in Business or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Good knowledge of Etobicoke neighbourhoods
• Good computer knowledge including word processing skills.
• Good knowledge of the internet and social media
This is a part-time, home based position with some evening and weekend work required.
