Ability Learning Network is a Private Career College established in 1993 and is a registered service provider for ODSP Employment Supports and an Ontario Works Employment Placement Agency. We are located in Downtown Toronto on The Esplanade. We are currently seeking a Job Developer to assist our clients with disabilities find suitable employment with local employers across any sector of employment

The Job Developer provides job matching, placement and job retention services to clients with disabilities who have experienced barriers to finding employment. The Job Developer is responsible for building partnerships with local employers to create job opportunities for our clients. The Job Developer encourages employers to review resumes and accept referrals from ALN and then works to facilitate the interview process and monitors successful placements to ensure job retention.
Duties:
• Marketing ALN's services to local employers by identifying employers' hiring needs and creating job trials, job shadowing and job placement opportunities. Employer contact can be initiated through cold calls, telephone solicitation, emails, mail-outs, site visits and any other method deemed appropriate
• Building strong relationships and long term partnerships with employers by providing suitable matches and persistent follow up
• Gain a strong understanding of employers' recruitment needs by gathering information about all aspects of their business including available jobs and required skills and experience. Identifies persons who would be a good match for these opportunities
• Conducting regular post-placement follow up with clients and monitoring and maintaining regular contact with employers to encourage job retention, ensure excellent customer service and seek new opportunities
• Getting to know clients to gain a thorough understanding of their interests, skills, career goals, attitudes, job preferences and any barriers to steady employment
• Helping build job search skills and encouraging self-reliance by offering realistic feedback on job expectations, interview performance and by conducting mock interviews and facilitating workshops on employment-related topics
• Constantly reviewing the client's action plan and ensuring all case notes and documentation for each client's file are complete and up to date
• Developing and maintaining an employer database

The Suitable Candidate:

You are an excellent communicator with a positive attitude. Your ability to communicate by phone and in person to determine the employers' needs and effectively describe the benefits of doing business with ALN will determine your success in the role. You are energetic and enthusiastic and thrive in a fast-paced outcome based environment where there may be frequent interruptions. You are purpose driven and believe in our mission to create suitable employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. You are persistent and resilient and are able to anticipate objections that employers may have to hiring our clients and be able to meet these objections with evidence of past success and accurate information. You must be well organized and be able to prioritize your time. You are encouraged to express yourself through your work, using your own personal style, personality, intelligence, creativity and imagination to find suitable matches between clients' skills and employers' needs.
Qualifications:
• University degree and minimum two years of relevant experience in Job Development, Recruitment, Sales or Marketing.
• Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills
• Results oriented with a strong ability to work in an outcome-based environment with a proven track record of meeting targets and deadlines
• Experience and sensitivity in dealing with persons from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to work in a team and to establish rapport with employers, clients and co-workers
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
• Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, Internet, email, and database management
