EEG Technologist (Toronto)

Position Summary:
The EEG Technologist plays an essential role in the diagnosis of brain diseases, injury and tumours and is responsible for: performing EEGs and other electrocardiography testing, documenting, equipment monitoring, cleaning and maintenance; and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualification:
- Registered EEG Technologist with the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroencephalograph Technologists (CBRET); preferred
- Current or previous EEG testing experience;
- Current BCLS;
- Ability to interpret and evaluate clinical data and information;
- Proven basic knowledge about the nervous system, the human anatomy and physiology;
- Proven ability must be able to work accurately and productively under stress;
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
- Demonstrated computer knowledge of Meditech system; and
- Proven good organizational, prioritization and time-management skills;
- Knowledge of infection control principles and practices;
- Must be physically able to perform duties of lifting, bending, sitting walking and prolonged standing;
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the TSH comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment, assess patient capabilities and limitations and make practice adjustments as necessary
- Computer keyboarding and literacy skills
- Satisfactory work performance and attendance record
- Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standar
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registration with the Canadian Association of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (C.A.E.T.), an asset
- Ability to speak another language
- Current ACLS preferred;
