The Job
Our client is currently adding functionality and/or rebuilding older components of the system in areas including clinical management, pharmacy management and general business systems. They are looking for individuals with the experience and capability to thrive in an environment that requires a broad exposure to development of mission critical systems including web, application and database programming in a highly complex, multi-tiered environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with cross functional team of developers, business analysts, and quality analysts to specify, develop, test, and implement software based on client and internal requirements.
• Modify functionality to meet changing business needs and legislative requirements
• Development in all tiers of web application including front end design, back end design, database design, and unit testing
• Proactively work on assigned tasks and task areas and co-ordinate the work effort.
• Ability to accurately scope project requirements and delivery timelines
Experience Required
• 5+ years experience with J2EE, MVC, JSP, SERVLETS, XML, SPRING/STRUTS, OOP, JavaScript/CSS/DOM, and a strong grasp of W3C HTML standards
• Strong understanding of Enterprise Design patterns
• Strong demonstrated experience with relational databases
• Experience with Resin/Tomcat/Apache
• Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and document business requirements
• Degree in Computer/Software Engineering or a related area from a recognized educational institution
Additionally Desired Skills and Experience
• Exposure to long term care, pharmacy or general business/commerce systems is a significant asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast paced multi-disciplinary team setting
• Experience with Change Management and Version Control Systems experience an asset
• Demonstrate experience with the Spring Framework, Spring, MVC, Web Services and AOP
• Exposure to Agile Development methodology a definite asset
