Job Title: Legal Assistant

Location: Toronto

We are currently looking for Legal Assistants for a prestigious law firm in downtown Toronto.

You will be responsible for:

• Working as a floater filling in for assistant's vacations and sick days
• Document production and revision
• Responsible for arranging and coordinating conference calls.
• Schedule appointments and meetings.
• Organize, prioritize, and expedite workflow.
• Transcribe dictation and type legal documents.
• Organize and maintain client files.
• Responsible for administrative duties with respect to accounting, opening and closing files, docketing, and billing.
• Perform clerical, administrative and general office duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

You will have:
• Minimum 2 years litigation law experience.
• Solid work ethic, with a genuine interest and passion for a specific area of law (Litigation, Labour and Employment, Corporate, etc).
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with clients and lawyers.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information is a must.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with a document management system within a law firm environment.
• Self-motivated, cooperative, and enthusiastic individual.
• Quick learner with the ability to multi-task.
• Flexible and available to work overtime whenever necessary.
• Reliable and punctual, as well as provides sufficient notice for vacation/absence requests.
