The Sr. Developer is responsible for developing plugins and themes and customizing our WordPress based environment. In addition to pure WordPress development, you will also work on other development projects to support our core business using PHP, MySQL and other technologies. As part of the B5Media technology team, you will work closely with the support team and other business units to further enhance our toolset and other projects assigned by the Director of Technology.

Summary of essential job functions
- Work with the technology team to create and modify Wordpress plugins and themes
- Optimise our existing code to increase functionality and performance
- Assist with modifications as requested by other functional teams
- Support requests from co-workers and the bloggers to troubleshoot issues that arise
- Miscellaneous other duties as assigned

Minimum requirements & skills
- Development using PHP and MySQL (3-5 years)
- BSc in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
- Familiarity with WordPress
- Comfortable in a Linux environment
- Familiarity with web scalability and cloud services
- Willingness to help with a variety of tasks
- Well organized and self-motivated
- Willingness to collaborate with the rest of the team
- Knowledgeable and interested in blogging and the social media space
