Christian Sports Editor (Hockey) (GTA)

Canadian Hockey online.ca , a soon to be launched sports web portal has an immediate opening for a part time Managing Associate Editor for its Christian division. Utilizing your strong sports writing/editing management experience you will be responsible for directing our online editorial programs from concept to execution, inclusive of the preparation and management of program plans, paths and budgets; Furthermore, this position requires an attention to detail, the ability to multitask, prioritize work, and the ability to work under tight time lines. Strong communication skills are a must. Candidates with 3+ years related experience in a similar role strongly considered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Plan, direct and coordinate web related online Canadian Hockey programs. Develop content relative to client, partner (sponsor) relationships. Develop, facilitate and direct overall program, continually assessing the project and identifying potential areas of increased effectiveness, efficiency and value added, providing maximum return on investment to the business.
Provide direction to freelance writers, photographers, videographers, bloggers and in-house sales reps with respect to our sites creative needs, clearly outlining communication priorities, branding and target market.
A strong knowledge and passion for the sport of hockey is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully. Sports, particularly hockey background is a must.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Editing and sports writing/blogging background a must. Advertising Marketing background a plus..
Web experience a plus, social networking skills a plus. As the focus will be on hockey in the Christian community, you have to be of the Christian faith and respect Christian values. We can introduce you to the athletes in the Christian community. Your role will be to profile those Chritian athletes that exude strong moral and family vaues.
This exciting project is in the embryo stage and is not ready for a full time editor. However only serious parties need apply. Although steady growth is anticipated, the site will remain seasonal until such times as revenues permit.
