Senior Network Engineer

The successful candidate will be a key player in providing technical and business support to our customer base. The role and responsibilities will be to work within a technical support team and to support on our ThinClient based hosted Microsoft environment.
This person will have an important role in customer interaction where they will be able to resolve Networks technical issues.
Expectations
Under management direction, develops implements and manages a comprehensive network and telecommunication services strategy; provides strategic architectural plans for the Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Services division, programs, and staff. Determines security requirements and make sure the infrastructure meets those requirements.
Generalized tasks include:
Participates in the leadership and management of the Information Technology Services (ITS) division to help envision future IT directions and goals; fosters effective use of resources; sets high, achievable aspirations for services and operations, and directs activities that achieve the strategic direction of ThinDesk.

• Designs a comprehensive integrated, reliable, high quality backbone infrastructure, network facilities, local area network and telecommunication system to provide reliable internet access, remote access to IT services, network security, and high performance networking.

• Develops standards and procedures in areas of network and telecommunication services.

• Assists in development and implementation of policies for the appropriate use for the network.

• Participates in the development of consulting support and user education activities related to the use of networks and telecommunications.

• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Oversees the daily performance of network.
• Identifies recurrent problems and help users resolve them
• Assists the System specialists in various aspects
• Liaison with third parties for Windows related issues
• Tier 3 Network and End User support.

• DSL Wide Area Network including bonded setup
• Cisco 800, 2600 and 7200 series routers
• Layer 3 switches
• Linux servers
• Juniper Firewall and security
• LAN Windows and Linux networking
• VPN skills
