Translator (French/English) (Mississauga)

Staples Advantage is looking for a full time Translator who would be responsible for all aspects of translation from English to French. This person would work in close collaboration with our Communications Specialist and reviewing personnel in Montreal to ensure that all documents are translated to the highest quality. Primary Responsibilities
•English to French Translations
•Senior Translator for all Staples Advantage communications (English to French).
•Translate corporate documents as required â€" powerpoint presentations, corporate announcements, signage, case studies, promotional material, web copy, newsletters, internal memos etc.
•Acknowledge receipt of translation requests, co-ordinate translation, and ensure formatting of internal documents are returned/completed as desired.
•Advise staff on language issues, including style, usage, specific terminology, and formatting where necessary.
•Build a glossary of terms in order to keep consistency with external translators.
•Update translated documents as necessary
•Work closely with reviewing personnel in Montreal office to ensure consistency
•Makes sure that all translations meet language law requirements in Quebec and Canada
•May assist with sensitive and confidential communications
Basic
•Complete fluency in both French & English
•Superior verbal and written skills in both French and English
•Excellent project-management skills
•Ability to prioritize work load and requests.
•Well developed initiative, pro-activity and sense of urgency.
•Ability to work autonomously as well as comfortable in team-based environment.
•Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work under pressure
•Computer literacy (MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel) and Translation Software
•Membership in the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO) or a similar body would be considered an asset
•Must be able to maintain all confidentiality requirements for documents under translation and submit to Staples Non-Disclosure Agreements and Contracts
•Ability to work irregular hours at specific seasonal peaks within the calendar year
•A degree in English-to-French translation or equivalent work experience.
•3-5 Years Translation Experience
•Strong Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
