Talented Web Developer (Mississauga)

As Web developer, you are an expert in using the dynamic programming tools and languages that fuel the Web. You might work independently or be part of a team that builds and integrates interactive Web sites, applications, and services for both internal and public sites. Your role is to make it work, which means developing Web applications and testing them on various browsers, enhancing and modifying them as necessary to ensure the best experience for the user. As a web developer, you might also architect websites, design data-driven applications, and find efficient client-server solutions. You must have an in-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle and be able to communicate project status, issues, and resolutions.
Skills and experience:
• 3-5 years of working with Joomla, Drupal and WordPress, preferably as a CMS./ Web 2.0
• 3-5 years of PHP/MySQL & XHTML, CSS, and Javascript coding experience
• Perform complete testing of Web applications--unit and system, engaging users as necessary.
• Conduct all user acceptances testing, and report results.
• Candidate must be a team player and willing to teach and to learn.
• Experience with industry-standard software development processes
• A strong understanding of Content Management Systems
• Experience using code editors along with the ability to hand-code.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent desirable
The Ideal candidate will also possess the following skills:
• Be proficient in at least one structured programming language
• Understand general database concepts
• Understand the architecture of clients, servers, and Internet systems
• Write functional and design specifications for Web applications
• Create and implement Web sites
• Create and monitor Web applications for clients and servers
• Design and deliver Web services
• Code, test, and support database-driven Web applications
• Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.
• Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
• Proficient in Internet related applications such as E-Mail clients, FTP clients and Web Browsers.
