Bookkeeper - part time (Mississauga)

A Mississauga based, growing small business, an online web sports portal, is looking for a responsible and energetic Bookkeeper to work in our small start-up! We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated and strong candidate to work in our highly entrepreneurial environment.
Working out of our home based office, the selected candidate will assist in managing the accounts receivables and payables. The successful candidate will also provide accurate reconciliation of summary sheets. Preparation of deposits, cheque issuances, appropriate journal entries and all weekly, and month end processes are requirements of the role.
Displaying excellent analytical skills, problem solving skills and precise attention to detail are required. The ideal candidate will have a thorough working knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices.
Additional skills and competencies include:
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Effective computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Access)
- Knowledgeable of QuickBooks is a definite requirement
- Excellent problem solving skills
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform the processing of financial transactions
- Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services
- Prepare, verify, and process invoices and coding payment documents
- Record all cheques
- Prepare Bank Reconciliations
- Maintain updated vendor files
- Maintain listing of accounts receivable and payable
- Maintain general ledger
