We are accepting applications for junior Associate Lawyers to start on a part-time/temporary basis. The firm’s current practice areas are civil litigation, business law, and some estate planning. Duties will include the following:

• Civil litigation, including attendance at discoveries and other examinations, appearances on motions, applications, and trials in Superior Court, Bankruptcy Court, and Small Claims Court, and all document preparation associated with such appearances.

• Business and transactional work, including asset/share purchases and sales, commercial real estate, commercial leases, trademarks, and some minimal residential real estate.

• Legal research, investigation, interviewing clients and others, handling closings, negotiations.

Work will be assigned with specific instructions and precedents to follow, with specific maximum time allocated to each project, and must be done on-site at the firm’s offices.

Compensation will be on a daily basis, starting at the rate of $100.00 per day. Bonuses, raises, and full-time employment possible in the future. Number of days required in any particular week may be unpredictable and will vary depending on workload and budget.

New calls considered, provided that you have some litigation experience from articling (any kind of court experience is acceptable, not necessarily civil). Must be computer-literate and will be required to use WordPerfect (not MS Word) for almost all document generation. Must have use of a car to attend court and other events outside the office.
