STATUS: Full Time – Short Term Contract
Summary:
St. Joseph Media is Canada's third largest magazine publisher with brands including award-winning titles such as WHERE Canada magazines, Toronto Life, Fashion, Weddingbells, Canadian Family, and Quill & Quire.
We are looking for an energetic Listings Editor for a short term (2-3 week) contract role. You must have excellent people skills and a strong organizational sense.
Responsibilities:
- Using Filemaker listings database, make sure all advertorial listings are in their appropriate format, category, section and region.
- Ensure inclusion/proper addresses on all national/multi-region and single-region advertorial listings.
- Check to ensure alpha-order.
- Check for listing duplications.
- Copyedit each listing using the principles outlined on the in-house Style Guide.
- Copyedit new advertorials as they come in, before placing each in its appropriate section within each region.
- Submit listings to sales reps for review:
• to make sure all their advertisers are listed,
• to check factual accuracy of address information, and
• that each advertorial appears in its appropriate section and category.
- Liaise with Advertising Designer to ensure each section is formatted to house style in InDesign layout.
- Multitask on several regions/sections at once to supply the Advertising Designer with steady work daily.
- Communicate changes to Advertising Designer and ensure changes are made correctly, following listings style guides and formats.
- Meet all regional/sectional pre-plant deadlines; some irregular and overtime hours may be required.
Education and Experience Required:
- InDesign, Microsoft Word, Filemaker
- Macintosh work environment
- Graduated from a relevant program
- 2 years related work experience
