REPORTS TO: Production Manager

LOCATION: Toronto
STATUS: Full Time – 4 Week Contract
Summary:
St. Joseph Media is Canada's third largest magazine publisher with brands including award-winning titles such as WHERE Canada magazines, Toronto Life, Fashion, Weddingbells, Canadian Family, and Quill & Quire.
We are looking for an energetic Intermediate Graphic Designer for a 4 week contract role.
Responsibilities:
- Flow and design listings pages as requested by Listings Editor and Art Director.
- Package completed listings pages to Prepress workflow system.
- Maintain records in Filemaker database for ad placement status.
- Ensure deadlines for supplying final PDF files to the printer are met through communication with Lead Designer.
- Meet all regional/sectional pre-plant deadlines; some irregular and overtime hours may be required.
- Create advertisements for Weddingbells advertisers as requested by Production Coordinators and assigned by Lead Designer.
- Store all ad related material on the Central Ad Server in the appropriate folders for the region your advertiser is purchasing.
- Through the Production Coordinators, ensure clients needs are met.
- Communicate with Production Coordinators to ensure final versions of ads have been sent for approval, and any client changes are made and approved.
- Create PDF files of final ads once they have been approved, using SJM PDF profiles.
- Ensure deadlines for final ads are maintained and achieved.
Education and or Experience Required:
- InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Filemaker an asset
- Macintosh work environment
- Graduated from a Graphic Design Program
- 3-5 years related working experience
- Bilingual (French/English) is an asset
