Position Title: Senior PHP Developer
Overview
N49 Interactive is seeking a talented Senior PHP Developer that is able to work quickly, efficiently and accurately. This highly motivated individual will work with various teams in the planning, development and maintenance of N49 Interactive company and client websites.
The successful candidate must have excellent PHP development skills, Linux server administration experience and experience working on high trafficked websites. The ideal candidate can manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast paced, team oriented environment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Ability to develop software in LAMP environment
- Ability to lead and participate in design and development of various PHP5 applications – including N49 Interactive Vertical Market Directories and Client Websites
- Assist in the strategic development and implementation of N49 Interactive business model
- Ability to develop E-Commerce web applications – Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) system
Skills / Qualifications
- University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science or related field, (or equivalent experience)
- Strong scripting (jQuery) and web development skills
- Strong database and connectivity skills: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle
- Strong Linux administration skills
- Minimum 3 years experience in web development and authoring at code level
- Experience using / developing Application Programming Interfaces (API’s)
- Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Experience in project leadership and website architecture
- Experience using Subversion (SVN) Version Control
Nice to have
- Experience using: Memcache, Distributed Database Models, Mod_rewrite
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Internet Marketing Practices
- Experience using Dovecot, Sendmail, Understanding of DNS
Interpersonal Skills
- Self motivated with an exceptional amount of creative and productive energy
- Ability to work well with multiple teams in a cross-functional set-up
- Strong sense of ownership and urgency to deliver projects/tasks in a timely fashion
- Excellent written and verbal command of the English language
