Java Developers - 50% bug fixing & support and 50% development - exp with financial payment concepts or financial services is desirable - downtown Toronto - 4 MNTH CONTRACT w probable extensions
Our client, a global leader in their field, is currently looking for a Contract Developers to join their global team working out of their Toronto office.
This is an immediate start.
This role will be 50% bug fixing and support and 50% development.
The successful candidate will be part of the IT Software Development and QA Test Team and report to the Director IT, North America.
The Developer will be responsible for secure application development and delivering high quality functional enhancements for their online payment platform.
The Developer will adhere to a structured SDLC process and established Change Management and Quality Assurance process and work to meet the business requirements and objectives of the change.
Key Accountabilities
· Work with Project Manager/BA and the assigned Lead Developer to design and develop effective solutions for the business
· Produce efficient, creative, mature and bug free code set adhering to the technology framework established for the project by conducting thorough unit testing for functional and technology requirements.
· Adhere to Quality Assurance process set for the Project which includes but not limited to self and peer-peer code review
· Develop user interfaces adhering to the established user interface framework paying great attention to detail
· Produce quality technical documentation adhering to the established documentation requirements in the project
· Keep the status of the assigned tasks up to date in the change management system
· Quickly learn and understand the business model of the organization and various financial payment concepts and terminologies

Qualifications
· 2+ Years Programming Experience in Java/J2EE Environment
· Experience with the complete development life cycle for a secure online application
· Experience developing in Java/J2EE including JSF: XML: XSL:
· Experience in Java Frameworks – Struts: Spring: ORM Libraries such as Hibernate: iBatis: others:
· Experience in developing Webservices calls: enterprise file transfer mechanism:
· Experience and familiarity on Enterprise Service Bus is desirable:
· Strong foundation in use of IDE(s) :
· Strong foundation in SQL queries :
· Familiarity and experience with OOD:
· Experience with file transfer protocols – scp: sftp: ftp: sift:
· Experience developing under the Web 2.0: RIA concept:
· Experience with Oracle 9i/10G: Weblogic 9 +:
· Experience with Oracle 11G: Weblogic 11G: OAS10 is desirable:
· Understanding of application security and OWASP guideline :
· Exposure to basic networking concepts LAN/WAN is desirable:
