Oracle App Server DBA w Oracle Reports/Discoverer - 1 YEAR CONTRACT (Downtown Toronto)

Job Description:
• Plan and implement the Oracle AppServer / Oracle Reports / Oracle Discoverer environment for all stages of development as well as production
• Install and configure multi-tiered Oracle Application Server Oracle Reports / Oracle Discoverer environment on Linux platform
• Maintain and ensure availability and capacity of Oracle AppServer products and services and support client applications in a large and complex environment
• Install, support, maintain and upgrade Oracle AppServer products and services
• Develop, document, and implement procedures that support, maintain and enhance the Oracle AppServer / Oracle Reports / Oracle Discoverer environment
• Diagnose and resolve complex problems in the Oracle AppServer environments
• Interact with other staff such as developers, DBAs and end users, to diagnose and resolve Problems
• Develop, document (in MS Word and/or Excel format) and implement procedures that support proactive problem detection and avoidance, including disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Balance hardware, network, software and architecture issues to arrive at a scalable and maintainable solution that meets client requirements for uptime, performance and functionality. Also recommend solutions and alternatives.
• Perform logical and physical appserver design
• Ensure all changes are documented and develop Quality Assurance plans and procedures.
• Work with Application Development teams, Oracle Integration developers, Support Teams and Oracle DBAs to configure, deploy and troubleshoot custom applications in the Oracle AppServer / Oracle Reports / Oracle Discoverer environment
Skills:
• Demonstrated experience in installing, configuring and administering the Oracle Application Server / Oracle Reports / Oracle Discoverer in a large enterprise environment on Linux server operating system using the most recent version of these Oracle products
• Experienced in performing logical and physical application server designs
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems in an Oracle Application Server / Oracle Reports / Oracle Discoverer environment
• Excellent ability to develop and implement procedures that support, maintain and enhance the Oracle Application Server / Oracle Reports / Oracle Discoverer environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle Application Server/ Oracle Reports / Oracle Discoverer performance tuning
