full time Technical Sales Specialist - Toronto (Toronto)

This is a great role for a proven field sales person in the industrial wire and cable industry, looking to get more opportunity and be at the fore-front of an exciting new sales strategy with an industry heavy-weight.

Our client is one of Canada's largest industrial wire and cable distributors with branches across the country. Right now they are looking for expert outside sales professionals with industry experience and a proven track record of selling directly into engineering firms. Typically our client has sold through an inside sales force, and these new roles represent an exciting new venture for the company, allowing them to develop stronger relationships with engineering firms day-in and day-out to get more visibility and consideration of projects in all stages from budgeting through to project management and implementation.

These Technical Sales Specialists will be:

- uncovering when projects are scheduled
- determining what factors will carry most weight during decision making process
- putting together “bid packages”; leading the response for tenders and bids
- and ultimately ensuring that our client increases its market share

You will be expected to be “on-the-road” (interacting with decision makers and influencers) 70-80% of your time in this role. As such, we are looking for a very disciplined and experienced business developer who has proven their ability to excel with very little micro-management. Ideal candidates will have a proven history of developing long-term business relationships within the electrical engineering space.

A strong performer in this role should earn over $100k per year once ramped up. Salary will be commensurate with the chosen candidate’s compensation history. Compensation will be made up of a base salary, commissions, and profit sharing.
