Program Manager
Greenbelt Fund
The Greenbelt Fund Program Manager will work with the Program Director on the overall implementation of the Greenbelt Fund, a promotional program focused on significantly increasing the procurement of local, Ontario-grown food. Responsibilities will include program management, performance monitoring, website development, industry relations, success sharing, report writing, etc. with the goal of improving the procurement of local foods in Ontario.
Main responsibilities:
• Identify trends, opportunities and challenges for local food procurement by key audiences in Ontario
• Assist the Program Director in the operating and decision making for the program under the Greenbelt Fund
• Respond to public enquiries about the Greenbelt Fund and application process
• Manage all administration and record keeping for the Greenbelt Fund and files
• Work with performance monitoring consultant and procurement stakeholders establishing baseline information on local food purchasing and managing performance measurement
• Monitor and document the performance of partner activities in increasing local food procurement
• Be visibly active in helping food purchasers, distributors, operators and producers meet the objectives of the program
• Work with the Ontariofresh.ca Project Manager in the development of an Ontario wide online marketplace for businesses and consumers to source local, Ontario grown food
• Work with the Greenbelt Fund Communications Manager to generate and disseminate local food procurement success stories that can be shared through trade and mainstream media, industry events, marketing materials, awards etc.
• Work with education stakeholders to create local food procurement educational programs
• Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports as well as all reports required
• Conduct all other duties as directed by the President or Program Director
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years food industry experience
• Marketing/sales background
• Program management experience desirable
• Highly organized with project management experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience in working as part of a project team
