Personal Support Worker
Better Living Health and Community Services, Community Services Division, has an opening for the position of Personal Support Worker. The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct provision of client services in the community.
The Personal Support Worker reports to the Supervisor, Homemaking Services.
Responsibilities
„XƒnCarrying out the service plan as determined by the Supervisor, Homemaking Services.
„XƒnProvide assistance with ADL¡¦s.
„XƒnCommunicate with the Homemaking Services team
„XƒnParticipate in team meetings
„XƒnProfessional development
„XƒnSafety and housekeeping
Qualifications
„X Must have a Personal Support Worker certificate from an approved college.
„X One year of community ¡V based experience is preferred.
„X Experience providing personal care, homemaking and respite care services.
„X Experience working independently in client¡¦s homes.
„X Knowledge of community based programs and services.
„X Knowledge of seniors¡¦ issues.
„X Knowledge of Community Care Access Centre¡¦s standards.
„X The ability to follow a care plan and remain task focused.
„X Strong verbal and good written communication skills.
„X Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes in daily schedule.
„X Ability to work with people with disabilities and cognitive impairments.
„X Strong problem solving and reporting skills.
