The Position Senior Windows Systems Developer

Position Summary
Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the Senior Windows Systems developer will play a pivotal role in the development of Windows components for Axcient’s Uptiva line of products and services.
Major Responsibilities
• Participate in the architecture, design and development of high quality software which leverages the following Windows components;
o VSS snapshots for Windows
o Application specific backup for Exchange, SQL Server, Sharepoint
o VM based backup and recovery using VMware, HyperV and Xensource
Experience & Skill Set
The ideal candidate will have recent, demonstrated experience delivering robust, reliable Windows systems software and drivers in mission critical environments.
Meaningful development experience with most of the following is required;
• Windows systems code development, including services and drivers
• Windows applications and servers running in VM environments
• VSS
Optional, but highly desirable skill sets;
• MAPI
• Filter drivers
• Some familiarity with linux systems programming
• Shell scripting
• Unit test frameworks in the Windows environment
• Experience with svn and jira
Ideal Personal Characteristics
• Technology Savvy - The ability to come up to speed quickly on new technologies relative to software in complex, non deterministic systems environment.
• Personal Integrity & Initiative – A high-energy individual with sound judgment who is sensitive to the needs of a small and rapidly growing company. Senior Linux Systems Developer
Position Summary

• Participate in the architecture, design and development of secure, infinitely scalable, mission critical Cloud Computing and Storage components
• Participate in the architecture and, if necessary, the design and development of proactive monitoring and alerting tools geared around 100% uptime for critical system components
Experience & Skill Set
The ideal candidate will have recent, demonstrated experience delivering robust, reliable linux systems software and drivers in mission critical datacenter environments.
Meaningful, recent development experience with most of the following is required;
• Linux systems code development, including kernel components and drivers
• Products deployed in extremely high availability ‘six nines’ data center environments
• Large distributed file systems in the multi-petabyte range
• Monitoring and alerting tools for ‘Zero down’ time linux environments
• Linux applications running in VM environments
• Cloud computing and storage
Optional, but highly desirable skill sets;

• Unit test frameworks in the linux environment
