About the Role – Cake Decorator
Reporting to the Department Manager, this position will perform day-to-day activities, following the instructions from the manager and adhering to company policies and guidelines. The Bakery Manager and/or Bakery Specialist will provide guidance on special tasks and issues.
Key Responsibilities:
-Providing product information to customers regarding ingredients, nutrition, value, storage, cooking etc
-Demonstrate initiative and creativity while completing product display (cakes/pasteries)
-Knowledge of Ad items of the week
-Knowledge of Longo’s Private Label and Western Family products
-Knowledge of department and around store programs and events (including weekly ads, magazine, flyer, Why Not Try)
-Responsible for department set-up, product presentation and product image (product display, signage, and rotation).
-Responsible for ensuring the quality and freshness of products at all times by checking dates and removing substandard products immediately from coolers/ counters/shelves
-Prepare required product in keeping with department standards
-Perform special tasks as assigned
-Responsible for complying with all department policies and standard operating procedures
Key Qualifications:
-Demonstrate initiative and creativity while completing product display (cakes/pasteries)
-Strong Customer service skills.
-Excellent verbal communication skills.
-Strong initiatives, excellent work ethic and sense of urgency.
-Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
-Adaptability to change.
-Ability to work in a cold environment.
-Ability to work in a team or independently.
-Availability to work weekends, flexible hours and rotating shifts.
-Ability to lift up to 50 Lbs.
