About the Role – Prepared Foods/Kitchen Clerk
Reporting to the Department Manager, this position will perform day-to-day activities, following the instructions from the manager and adhering to company policies and guidelines. The Prepared Foods Manager and/or Prepared Foods Specialist will provide guidance on special tasks and issues.
Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare required product in keeping with department standards
-Responsible for complying with all department policies and standard operating procedures
-Providing product information to customers regarding ingredients, nutrition, value, storage, cooking etc
-Responsible for department set-up, product presentation and product image (product display, signage, and rotation).
-Responsible for ensuring the quality and freshness of products at all times by checking dates and removing substandard products immediately from coolers/ counters/shelves
-Knowledge of Longo’s Private Label and Western Family products
-Knowledge of department and around store programs and events (including weekly ads, magazine, flyer, Why Not Try)

-Strong initiative, excellent work ethic and sense of urgency
-Strong customer service skills
-Good verbal communication skills
-Ability to adapt quickly to new situations/priorities, as well as new and changing processes, programs and services
