Photographer/Graphic Design Intern
Description:
The Photography/Graphic Design Intern provides a multi-skilled photography and graphic design services to the Marketing and Product Development team of Wild Eye Designs. This includes, but not limited to, all aspect of product photography and graphic design to assist the communications and design goals of the company. Under the direction of the Creative Marketing Director, the incumbent will manage multiple jobs and deadlines adapting to existing methods in a fast-paced environment.
Product Photography:
- Manage all product photography requirements including print-ready collaterals and website assets.
- Built composite images in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator from digital photography assets.
- Photo edit and retouch product photography using Adobe Photoshop.
- Consult with the Creative Marketing Director and colleagues in advance to determine project needs.
Graphic Design:
- Using Adobe Creative Suite, assist the development and design of creative projects from print to web from concept to final prepress.
- While adhering to Wild Eye Designs branding standards, provide general graphic support for Marketing and Product Development teams.
- Design printed marketing collaterals using existing templates.
- Consult with the Creative Director and colleagues in advance to determine project needs.
File Archiving and Retrieving:
- Maintaining and organize all digital assets in the database.
- Archive digital images and graphic files to CD/DVD.
- Retrieve files for clients as required.
Other duties as assigned by the Creative Marketing Director and Creative Director (Product Development).
Qualifications:
- Strong photography and graphic design skills as demonstrated in a portfolio.
- Knowledge of techniques, principles and equipment of modern photography.
- Experienced with product photography.
- Proficiency in studio lighting techniques.
- Photography Diploma or Graphic Design Diploma from an accredited institution.
- Strong computer skills using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) to edit, design and develop media content.
- Experienced in design, layout and typography for corporate branding is an asset but not required.
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, multi-task, set priorities and work to a deadline.
- Ability to present and communicate creative ideas.
- Ability to develop and design marketing collaterals and packaging graphics.
- Strong creative skills, initiative and problem-solving capability.
- Knowledge of print production, digital and offset processes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail with ability to proofread documents as required
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record.
Employment Terms:
- Wild Eye Design Internship programs begins in September 2010, with a minimum of 3 working days per week.
- Internship will last for 3-6 months depending on a mid-term assessment review.
- This is a paid internship position, with an hourly pay (minimum of 22.5 hours/week).
