Our client in Saint John, New Brunswick is looking for a Bankruptcy Trustee.
Responsibilities:
You will assist in the planning and execution of engagements including
performing in-depth analysis of a debtor’s financial situation and
identifying strategies for dealing with various issues.
In the Debtor role: – Act as a strategic financial advisor to senior management and boards of directors. – Assist company management by analyzing its current financial situation and recommending strategic alternatives – Work with senior management to develop cash flows and operating budgets to maintain the viability of the company during distressed situations – Assist in the development of business plans to support restructuring plans and financing initiatives – Assist with the negotiation and structuring of turnaround financing – Act as Monitor in the context of C.C.A.A. filings (selective situations).
In the Creditor role: – Perform viability assessments of companies and recommends solutions – Review and assesses business plans and short-term cash flow forecasts – Provide advice to Creditors in the enforcement of their rights – Act as receiver and manager or trustee in bankruptcy (selective
situations) – Act as part of the management team during operating receiverships.
Travel will be part of this position
Qualifications:
- Trustee in Bankruptcy – Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CIRP)
- Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting or equivalent
- Designated Canadian CA with minimum 5 years post qualification experience
- Experience on large, complex restructuring engagements (experience with engagements under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and Chapter 11 preferred)
- Experience developing and working with Cash Flow Models
- Experience within the forest and paper manufacturing industries
- Advanced business modeling skills and experience required
- Proven capabilities in problem solving, situational analysis, creativity, negotiation and decision making
- High level of technical competence in conducting financial analysis
- Ability to prepare high quality written communication
- Comprehensive understanding of financial statement analysis
- Ability to work as a team on a number of simultaneous projects
- Effective time management, especially under tight deadline pressures.
- The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
- Superior analytical skills
