Web Developer (full-time) for ScribbleLive.com (King St. West)

Position: Web Developer, ScribbleLive.com
Location: Scribble Technologies Inc, King St West, Toronto
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required.
Description:
ScribbleLive.com is a liveblogging platform based in downtown Toronto (King St.West). Ideal candidate would have an excellent grasp of web-development, and working with open-source projects and APIs. This is not a web-design position. Advanced knowledge of Object-Oriented programming is a must; University degree preferred. Familiarity with software lifecycle processes (source-control, bug tracking) is a plus. Candidate will be responsible for the development of server-side technologies, as well as Javascript on the front-end. The majority of code will be written in .NET/C# but willing to consider all candidates with an extensive web-development background in PHP, Rails or Java. This is a not a Visual .NET position; Our ASPX pages are highly customized with an extensive C# library behind them. Candidate should have a proven record of working on customer-facing websites with significant traffic.

Maintaining and extending .NET/C# libraries on ScribbleLive.com
Maintaining and extending Javascript libraries on ScribbleLive.com
Designing MS SQL 2008 databases to work with code libraries
Suggesting new features to enhance the ScribbleLive.com platform
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
5 years experience with an object-oriented compiled code language
5 years experience Javascript code and XHTML DOM manipulation
3 years experience working for a production website
Understanding of web application scaling, caching, and high-availability strategies
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, and IIS
Experience working with source-control repository (SVN preferred)
Knowledge of common API methodologies (e.g. REST, web-service)
Well organized with good communication skills, patience and an ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
