Senior Web Application Developer (Oakville, ON)

We are seeking an experienced web application developer for a 9-12 month full time contract starting on (or before) March 1st, 2010. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to work efficiently and independently. Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate past experience working in a lead developer role on large enterprise projects. Some offsite or telecommute work is acceptable, however note that we are seeking local Canadian talent only (i.e. those who can work from within our office in Oakville 4-5 days weekly).
The Candidate will be expected to:
- Lead the development of several dynamic web sites using XHTML/CSS/JavaScript/Ajax/PHP/MySQL in a clustered environment (Traditional Linux based co-lo , or AWS EC3).
- Write neat & clean code that is well documented and well thought out
- Attend meetings and conference calls when necessary
- Take some direction and provide insight and consultation when required
- Solve problems and assist the team in researching new technologies
The Candidate positively must have:
- A strong command of the English language
- 5+ years with PHP 4.x or 5.x & MySQL
- 3+ years working with Web 2.0 front ends
- Strong XHTML/CSS/JavaScript skills
The Candidate would quickly become invaluable if he/she:
- Can also demonstrate account/client & project management skills
- Has a positive attitude and is eager to assist us in growing our studio
