Infrastructure Support Analyst (Toronto)

My client is well-established in the IT Consultation industry. They are looking for an Infrastructure Support Analyst to work in their Toronto location. This is a temporary assignment with a possibility of an extension, with the hours of 8:30 - 5:00 Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities
- Provide expertise for IT infrastructure (e.g. servers, network), application infrastructure (e.g. SAP), and related services (e.g.
Business Continuity) throughout the lifecycle of a deal in accordance with contractually established terms and conditions and
established technical standards
- Provides technical input, solutions, and recommendations to deal pursuit
- Engaged in and provides support for transition/transformation efforts
- Monitors service delivery compliance to budget, quality standards, and customers and/or internal businesses/end user requirements
- Provides IT infrastructure and/or application infrastructure lifecycle technical support, including planning, project management,
installation, on-going management/monitoring/troubleshooting, and de-installation, following operational policies and processes
that are compliant with industry standards (e.g. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL))
- Manages the technical/service relationship between company and the customer, and between the company and subcontractors/vendors. Works with the key customers and/or internal businesses/end user representatives (Infrastructure Support Managers, Client Manager and the Account Delivery Manager) to retain customers and build the business
- ITO Service Delivery work is generally performed remotely from a facility, but may be performed at the customer's location
when required/justified
Skill Sets:
- Wintel 2003, 2008
- IIS 5, 6
- DNS, DHCP, advanced IP knowledge
- WAS 6 or 7 support
- Experience with Virtual Centre or Virtual Infrastructure
- Setting up virtual and/or physical environments
- Exposure to SQL, DB2, Postgresql
- ITIL (Release, Change, Incident, Problem management)
- Experience setting up web server instances
Additional Skill Sets:
- MQ Series
- Citrix
- Websphere Message Broker
- Linux 5
- JBoss
- Active Directory knowledge
- Novell Netware
- Experience working in an enterprise environment
- Project consultation
- Advanced time management skills
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
Qualifications
- Ability to apply intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of
common business issues. Works on problems/projects of moderately complex
scope
- Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to
determine appropriate action
- Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited
project direction input
- Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique
circumstances and makes recommendations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or
equivalent work experience
- May hold entry-level or intermediate-level certification(s) in work field
- 2-5 years of relevant experienceNeed basic project management, communication
and analytical skills.
