Technical Lead – Data Warehouse Data Marts (CL)

Position: Technical Lead – DataWarehouseData Marts
Key Skills: Lead on Data Warehouse Data Marts designarchitecture - ETL, OLAP cubes and Business Intelligence reporting.
Location: Toronto – Downtown Core
Type: Permanent
Apply your expertise to the development and support of a Client Reporting architecture. This program of work will span multiple years with some projects already underway and several more planned – so only candidates with long term career goals.
You will serve in a lead role providing technical expertise to the development, deployment and support of Reporting Repository solutions, and will be supported by one dedicated developer with contribution as required from other team members.
The role requires a strong ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment with multiple projects in flight at all times.
Responsibilities
• Define development specifications and technical requirements in all aspects of Data Warehouse and Data Marts design including ETL, OLAP cubes and Business Intelligence reporting.
• Have expertise in Data Warehouse industry and technology trends with leadership in vendor product offerings and design strategies as well as input and negotiation of related third party contracts.
• Strong methodologies PMLC, SDLC and the ability to provide detailed planning, scope definition and implement controls
• Contribute to project charters, definition of project deliverables, cost/benefits analysis, timeline estimates, and project status communication and provide timely escalation of issues.
• Coordinate the defining, delivery and maintenance of technical and application infrastructure to support BCP by following standards, policies and procedures in compliance with IT Disaster Recovery planning.
• Ensure stellar levels of service and operational availability security and privacy
• Interface closely with Infrastructure group on technical infrastructure standards, support procedures and costs related to the Data Warehouse environment.
Skills & Experience
• Expert skills in Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence technologies including ETL, DTS/SSIS, SSAS, Analysis Services, SSRS, PerformancePoint Server, ProClarity Analytics, OLAP.
• Thorough knowledge and experience in Kimball’s approach to Data Warehouse design.
• Strong expertise and experience in MS-SQL 2000 & 2005.
• Solid data modeling experience including proficiency in the use of ERWin Data Modeler
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft development tools - .Net, C#, ASP.Net
• Proficiency with Visual Source Safe
• Asset Management/Portfolio Management industry experience highly valued.
• Strong organizational, follow-up and priority-setting skills to handle multiple tasks/projects and to work independently
