The major priorities for eHealth Ontario are ensuring that Ontarians with diabetes receive top quality care by providing electronic tools and information to manage their condition, reducing medication errors through an e-prescribing system that eliminates hand-written prescriptions, and reducing wait times in Ontario's emergency departments and the incidence of inpatients in acute care waiting for alternate levels of care.
This role is responsible for leading technical mandates of release management with regard to software tools such as Rational suite of tools as well Microsft Team Foundation software and others within eHealth Ontario. The person's responsible will include planning, implementing, investigating and trouble-shooting any issues relating to software tools, packaging, and build and deployment management across eHealth's Release Management's domain. This role will contribute to, and support the activities as defined by the Team Leads.
The candidate will have a university degree in Computer Science or Engineering with at least 5 years experience strongly focused on Software Tools –Rational, Microsoft and others. The candidate should also have solid understanding, theoretical and practical, of SDLC especially in the areas of development, integration and associated processes and philosophies.

It is mandatory that the candidate has IBM Rational tools administration experience.
The candidate will contribute by performing the following type of tasks:
Install and support software tools – Rational, MS and others.
Work closely with the user community and Management in understanding the challenges and provide appropriate solutions.
Contribute to solutions with regard to tools, build and deployment and integration.
Contribute to the creating and providing of enterprise solutions
Create and implement best practices processes in the areas software tools, packaging, and build and deployment management as it relate to eHealth Ontario
Contribute to software deployment across environments (using manual or automated tools to promote code compiles across environments)
Create and update documentations and associated material on tools build and deployments
Key responsibilities for this role include learning and supporting team in the area of:
Rational Tools (especially Clear Quest, ClearCase) and Microsoft tools (especially TFS)
Troubleshooting users issues with regard to software tools, build and deployment.
Installation and administration soft ware tool.
Conduct meeting with management, user and others in order to understand and provide appropriately solution
Contribute to and construct Proof of Concepts when necessary.
Work with Software vendors and other solution providers.
Contribute to Implementation/Maintain of continuous integration and software build environment with cruisecontrol.NET and Nant.
Support the creation and maintains the various Deployment configuration Profiles for each release across all environments
Provide support for development and testing user community
Contribute to the creation and improvements of existing software, build and deployment scripts
Management and updates to support and technical documentation

Solid understanding of TFS code management
Solid understanding of Rational tools – Clear Quest, ClearCase
Solid knowledge of Cruisecontrol.NET, Visual Studio 2003-8 (C#)
Solid oral and written, presentation and communications skills
Solid understanding of application packaging and deployment tools
Good understanding of Windows, Portal, SQL, and .NET technologies
Good understanding of NANT and build tools (great asset)
Demonstrated scripting knowledge such as ANT, NANT, Powershell, and other scripting languages
Familiarity with VMware ESX server, Infrastructure, and networking
Process oriented with good analytical skills and sound judgment
