Role Mandate:
Provide leadership to a small group of infrastructure specialists devoted to the enhancement and maintenance of a particular common infrastructure solutions provided to the company and customers. The role will also assist in leading and supervising a team(s) infrastructure programs and projects either in a technical lead or project manager capacity. This includes planning, implementation, administration, optimization and support of the company's server, network and telecom infrastructure to meet SLAs. It also includes responsibility for disaster recover planning and data center. Provide technical and client account management for assigned service areas.
Key Accountabilities:
•Provide technical (server, network, or telecom) leadership to staff, including full responsibility of mentoring, assisting in hiring and staff development, training, providing input to performance reviews, ensuring quality, quantity, timeliness of work production to achieve business objectives.
•Provide technical guidance with Incident/Problem Management support of the server, network and telecom infrastructure components including hardware and operating software.
•Lead in improvement of new and existing infrastructure components.
•Manage the Data Center.
•Contribute to the design of infrastructure services through leadership by example.
•Take ownership of all infrastructure solutions produced by the team.
•Clearly communicate progress and risks in a timely manner, along with suggestions for overcoming obstacles to sr. management.
•Ensure that a proper methodology is adhered to by all team members.
•Participate in the analysis and management of all critical technical design issues pertaining to telecom, network, server administration and Data Center.
•Provide weekly reports of analysis of work completion.
•Provide weekly milestones of work to be completed updates of project task completion as required.
•Mentor the team in infrastructure best-practices.
•Ensure that team members’ concerns, suggestions and issues are dealt with in an appropriate manner.
Cross Functional Relationships:
•Gain a complete functional and technical understanding of their assigned functional area so that they are able to provide guidance to a variety of stakeholders including the Product Owner, Development, QA Testing Group, and their own team.
•Work together with other IT Team Leads to improve established standards, policies and Procedures as needed.
•Forge a strong relationship with the systems engineering and database teams.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
•Thorough understanding of the ITIL framework.
•Demonstrated experience operating and troubleshooting in a MS environment.
•Proven track record for participating in the development and management of infrastructure projects.
•Exceptional attention to detail.
•Certification in either the Server (MCSE) or Network (CCNA) disciplines.
•Certification in Avaya would be very helpful
•Ability to work in high pressure environments.
•Ability to lead technical people that have varying degrees of experience.
•Creative problem solver.
•Minimum of 5 years of systemnetwork administration experience.
•Minimum of 2 years of managing a small technical team.
•Strong foundation in project management methodologies.
•Strong time management skills.
•Strong personnel management skills.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•Strong knowledge of Data Center management.
•University or College degree in Computer Science
