My client is a well-established bank, situated in West Toronto or London, ON. They are looking for a Senior QA Project Manager. This is a 12-14 month contract with the possibility of extension. Regular travel to both locations and Toronto will be required.

Department Overview:
The Bank TS Retail Delivery team manages each retail bank channel platform including Retail Branch applications, ABMs, Call Centre Gateway applications and the Online Channel. This position requires a dynamic Test Manager to lead the testing efforts of the eChannel technology team that supports the Online Channel.
Job Overview:
While it is considered a PM role, this individual will be an IT TEST/QUALITY MANAGER
This individual will have a portfolio of testing activities and overseeing testers, QAs, and other stakeholders. This position will require solid leadership and senior level testing expertise.
The candidate will manage/lead a dynamic team of Test professionals in providing a broad range of test services and solutions to projects involving the Bank Info Site, Web Business Banking and the award winning EasyWeb application. The candidate will ensure established standards are met and planned objectives are achieved for the portfolio of eChannell projects.
The test team is split across the London and West Toronto campuses, with each campus having a Test Manager with people management responsibilities. Both Test Managers, along with several contractors, will report into this position. Regular travel to both locations and Toronto will be required.
Responsibilities:
• Lead team in planning, preparing and executing effective test efforts and test result walk throughs
• Manage creation, delivery and maintenance of testing documentation (e.g. test strategies, plans, schedule, cost estimates)
• Ensure Test process, methodologies and tools are applied appropriately and that test phase entry/exit criteria are agreed to by stakeholders and applied by the test team
• Understand and communicate testing impact of scope changes/PCRs to the project management team both from a timeline/cost and a risk perspective
• Review and provide input to project documentation as required and continue to assess and mitigate testing risks and monitor
• Manage and support the team in creating reusable test assets for both manual and automated test scripts
• Manage the defect process ensuring defects are documented, tracked and reported to facilitate timely fixes
• Manage the testing activities across the eChannel portfolio of projects and generate summary test status reports as required
• Lead team in using test tools, defect tracking tools and other test support tools and identify and implement process improvements where applicable
• Ensure testing is conducted in a manner that does not impact the production environment (e.g., scheduling of file transmissions, etc...) and in accordance with established information security and information privacy policies and guidelines
• Manage relationships with project team members, third party vendors/ service partners, release teams and business areas as appropriate
• Develop and manage a team of professional testing resources by participating in and/or executing recruiting, training, coaching and conducting performance assessments of team members and clearly define objectives and accountabilities and communicate to test team members
• Ensure team continuously enhances knowledge of tools, processes and procedures necessary for testing activities
• Act as a testing consultant / resource to other areas of IT and the Business
Skills:
• At least 5+ years on the job Test Manager experience
• Advanced knowledge of software development life cycle & PM life cycle
• Advanced knowledge of testing including risk based testing, software development practices & methodologies, version control and defect management practices
• Solid understanding of project financials management
• Experienced in testing transactional web based and host based applications
• Experienced with the development and maintenance of testing automation for a suite applications
• Experienced developing effective relationship with different project managers, portfolio managers & business units
• Experienced with resource management responsibilities including people management
Education:
• Post Secondary Degree/Diploma (computer science, or business with IT focus)
• Accreditation: Certified Software Tester (CSTE), Certified Manager of Software Testing (CMST) or equivalent
