Intermediate Java Software Engineer / Web Services
Full-time
Primary Duties:
• Work with stakeholders to define, design, and document new functionality
• Lead the development of new functionality, from design to release
• Investigate, review and integrate third party technologies
• Provide assistance to other developers on and off-site
• Provide assistance to customer support, documentation and quality assurance as needed
Your technical skills:
o Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and best-practices
o Broad knowledge of the J2EE/JEE with specialization in the creation of multi-tiered applications
o Solid understanding of relational Database technology specifically MySQL
o Specific experience in web services using a variety of implementation technologies including Apache Axis2
o Knowledge and use of the JBoss Application Server would be an asset
o Development platforms: Linux and Windows
o Familiarity with the Eclipse IDE would be an asset
o Experience using SVN would be an asset
What you bring:
• An inquiring open mind, superb analytical skills, and the ability to articulate your ideas
• 10+ years of progressive experience in software development
• 5+ years of Java application design and development
• Minimum bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics
• Possess excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills; strong team player
• Ability to accurately estimate tasks and meet schedules
• Familiarity with both Windows and Unix based development
• A strong commitment to always do what’s best for the customer
