Production Supervisor - Afternoons (Concord)

This position is responsible for leading their department and delivering production performance targets through efficient operation of the plant's production equipment. The supervisor is responsible for supervising production and executing levels and ensuring that Health and Safety practices and procedures are understood and practiced by all employees. The Production Supervisor position is the organization's 'first line leadership' position, direct influence on delivering the operation's goals of safety, environment, quality, customer service, efficiency and costs through effective leadership of people.
The operating site manufactures and distributes approximately 12 million gallons of decoratives coatings annually with an operating budget of approximately $6-12 million. The Production Supervisor plans and schedules work for the workforce, determines operating priorities for equipment, and executes the plant production schedule to meet production and customer service requirements.
This position requires a minimum of high school diploma and preferably a Bachelors Degree. Five plus years of experience as a first line supervisor in a progressive, efficient and results-oriented organization or other experiences where success was attained in managing people is required.
Excellent communications, organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary. PC literacy is required particularly the ability to understand, interpret and analyze spreadsheets, trend charts and process control charts. Experience in a fast paced industrial environment along with competencies of results orientation, concern for standards, initiative, concern for impact, interpersonal awareness, flexibility and analytical ability is also required.
Knowledge of CPI (Continuous Process Improvement) principals and techniques is an important asset.
