Paralegal (Mississauga)

Paralegal required for a busy collection agency, required to assist with Small Claims Court proceedings. Individual accepted for this position will join a current team of paralegals who are responsible for appearing in court on behalf of our agency and our clients, completion of all documentation required to proceed with the judgement process and communicating strategies for course of action with the legal team regarding legal claims.
This is a full-time, permanent position that will require traveling to courts within a 500 km radius of our office.
Individuals must possess the following qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited law society college or university
• Paralegal license required (LSUC)
• Knowledge of Small Claims proceedings
• Knowledge of Small Claims Court Rules
• Knowledge of Court forms
• Valid driver’s license and abstract
Individuals must also possess the following qualities:
• Competent
• Works well under pressure
• Not easily intimated
• Able to deal with conflict
• Able to work in a fast paced environment
