Recruiter and Staffing Specialist (Toronto)

HomeWell Senior Care, a Toronto based, Home and Health Care company is seeking an experienced individual to play a key role in the company to both recruit new caregiving staff (caregivers, PSWs, etc.) and to schedule their assignments. This involves selecting the best candidates from a large application pool on a regular basis and understand the capabilities of each candidate in order to hire and assign them to specific clients.
You will assume the following responsibilities:
1. Determine best methods to attract the best new caregiving staff available in the Toronto area
2. Execute required advertising or job listings to attract new candidates
3. Receive and review all new employment inquiries and resumes
4. Screen best candidates and interview these candidates for potential hire
5. Perform required background checks
6. Hire new staff
7. Setup new staff on HR system for later access
8. Assign staff for client assignments
9. Manage ongoing staff issues and inquiries
10. Must be available to accept and quickly respond to incoming calls throughout the day.
This role will be the primary interface for all caregiving staff.
Prior direct experience as a recruiter/staffing specialist or manager in a home or healthcare agency is a significant asset.
Reports to: Owner/Manager
Work Schedule: The nature of the role is that work load will fluctuate based on the needs of the business from week to week. Estimate average weekly workload of 20-25 hours. Peak hours will occur during hiring campaigns.
Location: Much of the work can be done at home. Interviews to be done at prescribed interview location.
Productivity Tools: Web-based applications accessible from any location to perform most job related tasks.
Technology Required: Require part time use of computer to perform key tasks (PC can be provided if you do not have ready access to one). Require dedicate cell phone which will be provided. Cell phone for business use only.
Compensation: To be paid an hourly wage. To be determined based on your skills, references, experience and performance.
Languages: Well spoken and easily understood english language

3. Can learn quickly and continues to improve performance every day
4. Exceptional skills and intuition in terms of assessing potential candidates

11. Good with computer applications - word, excel, and web applications relevant to the business
12. Creative in terms of effective and efficient hiring and management processes

15. Patient and understanding with regard to people issues
