Position Title: Data Control Operator
Estimated Start Date: September, 2009
Contract Anticipated Duration: 3 Years
Rates: 33 to 43 dollars an hour
Project Description:
Data Control Operations is the single point of contact between Production Control and the User community. Data Control operators are accountable for scheduling and monitoring production schedule on the mainframe and client server platforms according to pre-set job flows to eliminate processing conflict and ensures highest work performance and reliability. Data Control Operators use Key101 software to key batched data.
Description of Duties/Scope of Work
Reporting to the Supervisor – Data Control, the successful candidate shall be responsible for the duties of the Data Control Operator during the Commission’s regular workdays. This involves entering and verifying batched data and input parameters with a high level of speed and accuracy, reviewing and balancing computer generated output for completeness, sending and receiving input data electronically and distributing, mailing and/or delivering high volume of reports to various work locations; which may require the capability to carry and/or push approximately 25 Lb. stack of paper.
The Data Control Operator is the single point of contact between Production Control and User community and as such the candidate is accountable for scheduling and monitoring production schedule on the mainframe and client server platforms according to pre-set job flow to eliminate processing conflict and ensures highest work performance and reliability. Working overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays with short notice may also be required. Data Control Operators use Key101 software to key batched data.
The position - Data Control Operator is responsible for:
• Batch, key and verify input data using various Key/Master Data Entry applications on the mainframe and/or on the client/server platforms
• Submit jobs to the mainframe using the automatic scheduling software – PCS
• Log and verify control totals for various applications • Distribute and mail high volume of reports to various users locations •
• Send and receive data files electronically using various data transmission methods (i.e. FTP, SFTP ... etc.)
Deliverables:
• Keying with minimun speed of 8,000 keystrokes per hour with high degree of accuracy;
• Quick learner;
• Good team player;
• A scenes of customer service;
• Enjoy working in a fast paste environment;
• Ability to work well independently and in team environment with minimal supervision and direction.
