Job Title: Active Directory Technician
Type: 6 Month Contract
Available to work shifts as required to accommodate Global user timelines
Note: This is not a Help Desk role, rather it requires an individual with strong HW/SW, Network Generalist skills.
Our client is seeking 2 individuals with strong networking skills and experience to assist them in a 6 month project that requires hands on recent and related experience working with Active Directory in a large Enterprise environment. To be eligible for this role you must meet the following skills and experiential requirements and be willing to work shifts as required to meet project objectives and time lines. This role requires that you have a good understanding of IT architecture.
Role Overview:
- 80% of the role is involved in Active Directory:
- Must have well developed experience working with Active Directory with strong knowledge of security objects and containers in AD
- NT 4 Domain controllers need to be decommissioned and existing users migrated to Windows 2003 (including AD objects).
- 20% of the role will involve researching resources for information to put into AD.
‘MUST HAVE’ Skills & Experience
-University Degree or minimum 3 year College Diploma in a related Computer Sciences discipline. MCSE certification would be considered an asset.
-Excellent English language communications skills (written and verbal).
-Minimum of 3 years of hands on (not academic) working experience within a large Enterprise environment with at least 1 year of recent and related experience providing administration of user accounts in MS Active Directory (2003 or higher) with a good general knowledge of security objects and containers in AD
-Resourceful with good IT security instincts.
-Strong IT troubleshooting and problem solving skills
-Strong organizational and time management skills
-Detail oriented, Flexible and self-motivated
-Working knowledge of Lotus Domino would be considered an asset
-Adapts well to changing environment
-Strong customer oriented service skills, reliable, proactive with a can-do attitude
-Ability to work independently as well as in a team oriented environment, meet deadlines and multi-task
