full time Senior Application Support Specialist (Knowlege of J2EE) (TORONTO)

As a member of Dyadem’s Application Support team, the Senior Application Support Analyst will act as the Technical interface to clients for resolution of technical & functional problems related to the recommended maintenance, use and fix/workarounds for Dyadem’s desktop and enterprise products. Support is provided via voice and electronic means. The ideal candidate will assure the highest level of client satisfaction utilizing both technical and customer skills.

Responsibilities:

• Provide functional and technical assistance to clients for Dyadem’s J2EE web-based enterprise application and desktop suite.
• Respond to client requests within stated guidelines and contractual Service Level Agreements.
• Interface with R&D and QA to bring software defects to resolution.
• Recommend known technical & functional solutions to clients, develop workarounds and in some cases solutions for product defect resolution.
• Maintain, monitor, and develop new features for Application Support’s web-based ticket tracking system using Java and database skills.
• Provide consistent and timely status updates to client issues.
• Contribute to the technical knowledge base.
• Display a consistent and positive client support orientation.
• Work in a 9x5 environment with the flexibility to work rotating shifts and participate in on-call program in the future.
• Participate in Application Support initiatives.
• Mentor and provide training to other junior members.

Knowledge and Skills:

Technical:
• 2 – 3 years of experience working with Java/J2EE technologies, proficiency in SQL and relational database systems.
• 1 - 2 years of experience in application server (e.g. TomCat, WebLogic, JBoss, or WebSphere).

Professional:
• Good written and verbal communication skills to deliver world-class client support.
• Ability to manage time and work flow to meet service levels and priorities.
• Ability to work independently with clients.
• Ability to set and manage client expectations.
• Ability to write technical information in a structured manner.
• Project a positive and professional image.
• Contributes to the success of team objectives through effective teamwork.

Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of web-based enterprise software support experience.
